Aldi’s 2-drawer air fryer: Ninja features for a third of the price

Aldi’s Specialbuys have become a byword for decent-quality products at budget-friendly prices. Its air fryers are no exception.

The supermarket has just announced two new air fryer models. Both have a lot of cooking capacity for a low price. Of the two, we’re most excited for the Dual Zone XXL model.

Two-drawer air fryers are incredibly useful, as you can use your air fryer to cook an entire meal. But they’re usually a bit of an investment – you’re unlikely to find one for under £100. But at just £59.99, Aldi’s air fryer is only 30% of the cost of Ninja’s basic dual-zone Foodi, the closest corresponding model.

Aldi’s Ambiano Dual Zone XXL (£59.99)

This 8L Ambiano model is split into two, 4-litre drawers, which you can use to cook different foods on separate settings at the same time. There will be enough space to cook a main and a side dish for 2-3 people. Or you can use one drawer independently, for quick snacks.

It’s a simply designed, matt black appliance, with a digital display and touchscreen controls.

It has ten different cooking programmes, and can fry, bake, grill, roast and dehydrate. There’s also a pre-heat function and a keep warm setting. It has a temperature range of 60°C-200°C in 5°C increments.

Its non-stick frying basket is dishwasher safe but all other parts will need to be washed by hand.

Aldi’s Ambiano XL air fryer (£36.99)

For a single-drawer model, this air fryer is capacious at 5.5 litres, which is enough space to cook a main or a side for the whole family. We think it’s very well-priced.

Like the two-drawer model, it’s a matt black appliance with digital display and touchscreen controls. It has 11 cooking presets and comes with a recipe book to help those new to air fryer cooking.

Again, like the larger model, its non-stick frying basket is dishwasher safe but all other parts will need to be washed by hand.
