Let’s face it: unless you want to use a tablet for serious work or gaming, there’s no need to spend a lot of money.
As good as the very best tablets are, most people just need something for the basics, including the likes of web browsing, watching videos and emails. If you’ve read our guide to the best budget tablets recently, you’ll know that the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 sits at the top.
It offers superb value for money at its £169 starting price, but this hefty discount takes things to the next level. Amazon is selling the tablet for a scarcely believable £91.49 – the lowest price it’s ever been.
The only small catch is that this is a non-UK version. But that has no effect on the usability of the device, especially with no charger in the box anyway.
Interestingly, the Tab A9 is discounted in Amazon’s Prime Day sale. But it costs £104.99 for the same 64GB model, and you need to be a Prime member to access it. Unless you haven’t signed up before and get the free trial, that means paying an extra £8.99 per month or £95 per year.
As our 9/10 review shows, this is the cheap tablet most people should buy.
The combination of a sleek yet premium design, solid 8.7-inch display, decent performance and solid battery life is something no other tablet can match at this price point. Throw in four years of security updates and you’re on to a winner here.
Its affordability is highlighted as a strong point even at full price, so being able to get it for so much less is a real opportunity. Provided you can live with slow charging, disappointing cameras and some blurry scrolling at times, you won’t be disappointed with the Galaxy Tab A9.
However, if you want to step up to the Galaxy Tab A9+, there’s also a great deal available. Amazon is selling the tablet for £139, a 21% discount which also means it’s the lowest price it’s ever been. This time, you do need to be a Prime member, otherwise it costs £199.
It was also a hit with our expert, receiving an 8/10 full review and Editors’ Choice award. If you want a more powerful chipset or larger 11-inch display, this is the device to go for.

If you don’t like Samsung tablets, how about the Honor Pad 9? It offers the best performance and display of the lot, alongside a design that could easily pass for a much more expensive device.
It’s down from its original £299 to £235.02, which is – you guessed it – the lowest price it’s ever been.
As you can see, there are some superb tablet deals available in the UK right now.
